Pink Sapphire is the corundum same family as ruby, blue sapphire and yellow sapphire. It is different from ruby because of its saturation or depth of color. The pink results from Chromium present in the crystal structure, which is also the cause of color in ruby, but there is less Chromium present in pink sapphire than in ruby.

    Pink Sapphire have a sweet pink color without overtones, while some stones appear in shades of pink and violet. It is found most often in Sri Lanka, Madagascar and Tanzania. Currently, it is very popular bacause of its sweep pink color and due to the fact that it has more brilliance than other corundum varieties.
