Sotheby's
upcoming Magnificent Jewels auction in New York on December 11 will
feature an excellent selection of natural fancy coloured diamonds.
Noteworthy among these is an elegant and extraordinarity rare fancy
coloured diamond pendant, which features a green-blue biolette weighing
8.81 cts. That is accompanied by a Gemological Institute of America
(GIA) report and a special letter that GIA reserves for the rarest
and most interesting of diamonds stating that it "not only
falls into the most unusual colour grades for natural colour diamonds,
but its physical properties add even more to its mystique."
The reserve price for this piece, which also includes a light blue
pear shaped diamond and round brilliant fancy grayish blue as well
as a fancy blue marquise shaped diamond is between USD800,000 -
1,200,000. |
