The
Antwerp Museums, the Diamond Museum is presenting 'Babur's Legacy', which
brings to Antwerp the colors and aromas of magical India at the time of
the Mughals. The exhibition takes its title from Bablir (1483- 1530) who
conquered India and founded the Mughal Empire (1526-1857).
All the jewelry reflects the
Mughal style, inspired by a combination of Persian, Indian and Islamic
elements, using a mixture of enamel, precious stones - especially diamonds
- gold and pearls.
