Bling,
Bling, is a familar term to Hip Hop disciples in Thailand, being thein-slang
term for jewelry used by the younger generation as well as a sarcastic
phrase to indicate a showy and sumptuous lifestyle, in the concept of
Hip Hop devotees. It also evolved into a name for Hip Hop jewelry, when
Pharrell William, the Hip Hop singer avid designer of jewelry for his
own use, expanded the Bling Line of jewelry for Raptors and Hip Hop fans,
setting off a new and explosive fashion trend around the world. In deference
to the influence of the Hip Hop generation, we are pleased to introduce
the story of Bling Bling Jewelry for your appreciation.
Bling Bling is a phrase
born within the Hip Hop culture from a Single Album titled Bling Bling
by the Raptor artist, Baby Gangsta, or "B.G.",
back in 1999, to celebrate his avalanche success that year. It later typified
a type of slang, denoting ridicule, snobbery and emptiness the he consumption
behavior of Raptors, who mistook gold and diamond jewelry as a social
status symbol, giving no concern as to where the money to buy such, items
came from, or what downsicres would occur in exchange, such as drug-dealing,
theft and robber gangs, resulting in many serious unsolved crimes.

The
materialistic culture of Bling Bling arose to compensate for the inferiority
complex suffered in the past. The majority of raptors at that time were
mainly Afro-Americans who found themselves marginalized with a deep desire
to escape from their social nightmare and segregation of colored people.
Their escape route came via Rap music that defined their plight and gave
them back their self-respect. Later, the term "Bling Bling"
used in Rap music medleys began to represent ridicule, sarcasm
and later, as a term for those who viewed materialism
as more important than the true feelings in their hearts. Raptors, at
this time, who were so enamored by fashion, or the materiallistic culture
were sometimes derogatorily referred to as the Nigger Rich.
Bling Bling, spread far
and wide by Raptors through their Hip Hop music, catching the spirit of
the time and rapidly becoming the accepted term for all jewelry worn by
Raptors and mentioned in their Hip Hop music all over the world. They
preferred very expensive, showy jewelry: Rolex watches, huge gold chains,
big, decorative diamond lockets, chunky gold bracelets and large gold
rings encrusted with diamonds, as well as other garish and weird jewelry
creations typical of the Hip Hop society, such as gold ear covers, inlaid
with diamonds, imitation teeth in grill jewelry. Many of these jewelry
designs, so beloved by the Raptors, are not yet in trend among Thai lovers.
Later, a faction of Hip
Hop music and Rap singers expressed their opposition to the Bling filing
culture by guiding their listeners and fans to lend itiore importance
to the mind and the humanity, rather than towards money-based materialism
which is just a substance, after all. Recognizing the as well as an attitude
to the way of life of youth and other listener groups, there was a call
for Raptors to show their social responsibility by presenting good examples
to youth in society. |

|
Now,
there are many Raptor and Hip Hop artists who re present youth and guide
them along the correct path of life, highlighting the true value of man
in society and how to cultivate a pattern af righteous behavior. They
include "Missy Elliot who strongly opposes the Sling Bling culture.
Instead she demonstrates a respect for the value of money she earned through
her own sweat and effort, while inviting all American colored youth and
Raptors around the world to protest against joining gangs to earn dirty
money.
In 2005, the famed Raptor,
B.G., fannounced his exclusive rights to the phrase Bling Bling, defining
it as the voice of light impacting on diamonds, producing the unique
"Bling Bling" sound, which is now employed widely
in the world of entertainment. Today, the Bling Bling culture is very
much in evidence, but much softer in its approach as a factor leading
to materialism. What remains, is its firm derision of people who try to
hide their origins by covering designed for Marc Jacob Jewelry, especially
for Hip Hop people, notably the chain necklace, platinum cross pendant,
embeded with diamonds, diamond decorated spectacles frames, multiple rings,
etc.
It can therefore be discerned
that jewelry designs are absorbing an increasing influence from the environment,
where many of the latest trends and fashions are derived. If you, our
readers, are especially observant and know how to apply environmental
influence effectively to jewelry design-you also may one day don the mantle
of a "jewelry designer" many of whom have no basic knowledge
or training in designing. The most effective talent a jewelry designer
can possess, is a love of the arts and a "quest to learn
from the environment". These important ingredients
provide the Inspiration and generation of exceptional works of art.
In conclusion, therefore,
the inew generation of designers, must possess a quest for information
and knowledge, and be able to apply the influence of the environment as
their inspiration-all crucial factors in revealing to the world, their
undoubted talent as jewelry designers. Thai designers must also be acknowledged
for their important contribution to Thailand's art and cultural creations
by continuing to receive strong
Government support, both at home and overseas. Support for various high-profil
artistic projects, such as the annual Bangkok Fashion City celebration,
or tl establishment of design support institut such as the Gem and Jewelry
Institute Thailand (Public Organization), which provides a One Stop Service
where jewelry designers can go for direct advice" or click at www.git.or.th
for advice on various services. Besides its training center, the Institute
includes a library gem and jewelry museum, and an ass laboratory for gems
and precious met (gold, silver and platinum), all of which will contribute
to Thailand achieving maintaining its rightful place as prominent contributor
