"It's not the rigt angle that attracts me, nor the straight line, hard, inflexible, created by man. What attracts me is the free and sensual curve" (an excerpt from his work PoemadaCurva).

The Copernicus Collection is inspired by the universe and the fascinating work of astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, who dedeicated his life to observing the sky with the naked eye, and defeneded the theory that the Sun is the centre of the universe. It accentuates an absolute power of attraction of the woman - and as the centre of the universe, the woman shines and female constellations determine the paths of the world.

The Diane von Furstenberg collection by H.Stern, however, is inspired by the ancient jewellery of the city of Jaipur in India, which greatly fascinates Diane. The new line combines the powerful, feminine spirit with H. Stern's innovative jewellery design and expertise. The pendants can be worn both sides, either showing the crystal, or the engraved inspiring words of Diane's mantras or "sutras," using characters based on her own handwriting.

Todd Reed: the raw elegance movement

"I believe that the 'most perfect cut' is still an uncut. It's become a passion and fascination for me to use and make aware the internet elegance of the pure form of this magical gem," - Todd Reed.

Reed is a self-taught goldsmith and jeweller who has been working exclusively with rough diamonds since 1992. He said that he became interested in uncut gems "as a way to re-interpret diamonds in our current society and to explore them throughout history. I wanted to bring back the natural coloured, organic cuts and tiemlessness of ancient and antique pieces which were worn by royals and oridinary people alike."

Thus, it is one of the bold ideas in shaking up the focus on the 4C's system of the 20th century, which "had become more about commerce and less about the jewelery's craft or their beauty in their natural form." Reed also obtains all of his rough diamonds through one dealer in New York City who respects and complies with his desire to know about where his materials comes from - ethically mined and socially responsible diamonds.

Over 20 years ago Reed decided to reclaim raw mined diamonds in his collections, the vast majority of which are not suitable for cutting diamonds that conform to the 4Cs. This diamond 'waste' incorporation spawned a movement to use all forms of diamonds in jewellery design, ending an unneccessary era of mining waste, while highlighting raw diamonds ' natural magic and beauty.

Reed also works to influence the jewellery industry to adopt the sustainable practice by using recycled and renewed gold in jewellery manufacturing to reduce the toll that precious metals mining takes on the environment.

With its truly individual characteristics and unique qualities of each and every diamond of his collection, over the past five years, his customer base has increased more than 500% with momen from varied lifestyles. All of Reed's pieces are handmade and finished in 18K gold, palladium, platinum, and silver.
