sizes from size 1.5 mm up…there are 62 Diamonds to 1 carat…
the gains on this smaller sizes is lower than on sizes 1.7 mm
up…where is only 50 Diamond to the carat….by re-cutting
depend on the damage to the Diamond….the weight loss is
minimum 7% and up…..additional are the cost for re-cutting
charges…depend on Diamond size.
What
qualities are worth to re-cut...
Normally
only qualities SI1 and up (VS & VVS)….for the P1 is better
to collect until there are several hundred carat of broken Diamonds
in stock and sell it to the Diamond market.
Gains
by re-cutting broken Diamonds…
The
average gain is about 55-65% of their former Diamond value…
on bigger Diamonds 2.4 mm and up the gain is higher…and you
have a new active stock which is already paid for.
